Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship as children laid bare
Prince Harry and Prince William were never close as kids, it is revealed.
The Duke of Sussex and the Prince of Wales, who are currently not on speaking terms after Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, were not the best of buddies either back in the days.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward admits she spoke to Princess Diana while she was still alive and discussed concerns around the two brothers.
She said : She obviously really tried to help him, but all Harry really wanted to do was have his mother to himself.
“He would sometimes pretend that he was ill at school so she could pick him up and take him home so he could sit and watch television with her all afternoon. He was a very tactile young boy. Very close to his mother.”
Ms Seward continued: “I remember after William went on his gap year, way back on operation Raleigh, Harry said ‘he’s much nicer now’, so this myth that Harry and Wiliam were very close, is a myth.
“They were only really close after their mother died. Of course they unified and they were the only two people that knew what it felt like.
“But they weren’t very close as youngsters.”
British royal family news divulges that celebrity-mad Americans love the dramarama of the glamorous Royal Family, fascinated in equal part by their excess and their star power.
Almost 25 million Americans watched the televised wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana on July 29, 1981, and today the couple’s sons carry on the family tradition, making headlines and turning heads.
So, which brother, the regal heir Prince William or the bratty spare, Prince Harry, do Americans prefer? The answer may surprise you!
Harry is the Biggest Loser
Entertainment writer Eric Carlson thinks that royal watching is like watching reality TV and a new YouGov poll which asked more than 1,000 Americans for thoughts on members of the Royal Family showed surprising results.
Overall, 22 percent of Americans consider the Royal Family to be “mostly good role models” and we can’t help but wonder that number would have been before Megxit?
Speaking of which, less than five percent of the American population views Prince Harry favorably while a whopping 53 percent view Prince William favorably making him the most popular royal.
Additionally, 18 percent of respondents now have a worse opinion of Huggy and Druggy since the couple defected to the US in 2020.
Americans Prefer Wiliam to Harry
Coming in second place is William’s wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, who is positively viewed by 52 percent of those polled, one year on from announcing she was battling cancer.
If you’re not familiar with the royal family, you might be surprised by the person coming in third place behind Catherine, it is Princess Anne with a 47 percent favorability rating.
Anne, the Princess Royal is the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth and last year she was crowned the hardest working royal with 217 official engagements
In Last Place are the Wrong Uns’
Diving straight to the bottom of the barrel, we find Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex at 7th place in popularity. Both Harry and Meghan have earned criticism for their incessant royal bashing including the Oprah interview, a Netflix reality show, and the Duke’s memoir, Spare.
Royal pundit Ingrid Seward thinks that Harry and Meghan’s unpopularity in the US is down to berating the late Queen: “I give a lot of talks to Americans. They all dislike Harry and Meghan. They hate that they let the Queen down.”
