During his family’s summer vacation at Balmoral, Prince William has taken time out to deliver a unique message for a cause that is very dear to his heart.
Resharing a post from London Air Ambulance on his official social media accounts on Friday, the Prince of Wales announced the organization’s success following a £15 million fundraising appeal. William attended the charity’s gala in February, his first public event after his wife, the Princess of Wales, underwent abdominal surgery.
He wrote: “Excellent news—this will have a life-saving impact” alongside the update. Many thanks to everyone who made a donation. W.”
During a stirring speech at the gala, William, a former pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, emphasized the critical need for additional helicopters.
“The current aircraft have performed admirably here in London. But a new fleet is needed in our capital city.”
“Time is not on our side. The appellation’s name is actually the hint. We must have the two new red birds in our skies by September, equipped with the newest technology, like night vision.”
Just when William is getting ready to spend the summer with his wife and kids, this heartwarming post appears. As is customary at this time of year, Catherine is scheduled to travel to Scotland to be with her family while receiving preventative chemotherapy, according to The Mail on Sunday.
The Royal Family loves Balmoral, and it seems like the perfect spot to unwind. The holiday house is in the Scottish Highlands and has long been a family treasure.
Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, and Princess Beatrice all spent summers there as children. Since then, they’ve brought their own kids along to enjoy outdoor activities like picnics, barbecues, horseback riding, fishing, and, of course, the rare sunny day.
William spoke movingly on this special place before the Church of Scotland’s General Assembly, saying, “Scotland is the source of some of my happiest memories but also my saddest.” I was at Balmoral when I received the news of my mother’s dying.
Still in shock, I sought solace in the Crathie Kirk service that very morning. In the dismal days that followed, I found solace and serenity in the Scottish countryside. Because of this, I will always have a close relationship with Scotland.
“I met Catherine here in Scotland 20 years ago this year, and that offers me great delight in addition to this horrible memory. It goes without saying that the town where you meet your future bride holds a very special place in your heart.
“George, Charlotte, and Louis are beginning to create happy memories of their own here, and they already know how dear Scotland is to both of us.”
